Kittens are little animals that you love to find around. Kittens are one of the most preferred pets in this world along with puppies and children tend to get fascinated with this soft pet. If you are planning to keep one as a pet, there are a few things that you need to know.
Kittens are the baby cats, which are very delicate at their young ages. This why you should not pull their tails or squeeze them hard. Kittens do not like if you rub them harshly. Children need to be careful with kittens. This is because kittens have claws, which are very sharp and can scratch you very easily.
Kids need to play with kittens under the supervision of their parents. If you place a piece of string or yarn in front of them, kittens love to play with those. Kittens often use their sharp claws while playing, so you need to be watchful. If they feel threatened or scared, they may claw you. Since they are young and do not realize anything, you can not scold them or beat them.
An interesting fact about a kitten is that, a tiny kitten has whiskers, which they use to identify something near them. The moment they get close to anything their whiskers touch it first and it signals them as to what’s nearby. Remember, do not try to pull out or cut their whiskers as it is very painful and mean.
When you listen to their purr, make sure either they like what you are doing or they are hungry. When they can not control their hunger, they start purring frequently. In such a situation, provide them with unique kitten food and milk. Kittens are different from puppies in many ways. A puppy may wag their tail at you when you enter the room. In contrast, you can not expect a kitten always do the same. There is nothing wrong with this as kittens are different in nature and behave differently.
If you find a kitten wagging its tail, it does not mean that it is happy. This may happen due to the annoyance as well so avoid trying to pull out its tail. They love when someone softly rubs their ears, back and their tail. They have a very strong hearing power. If you shout out loud, this may bother them.
Kittens enjoy rubbing things with their faces. This is because they have scent glands in this area. When they rub against anything, it leaves a message for another cat. The moment another cat perceives this scent; it realizes that it is supposed to hold back.
It is recommended that you avoid giving your kitten a bath as this may make them sick. They get angry if anyone throws water on their body. You can also consult a doctor if you notice something wrong or serious with your kitten. Given them space to roam and one day you may find them to be one of your best loving buddies.
